Ayos kayo! Hehe! This brother Bob's letter of super atomic supercalifragilistic damnation. Talagang siguro love na love na ng FCF Pentecostal leadership si brother! (Brother Bob, it took us several days to find a copy of this letter. Talagang napagod kami. However, because of one ex-Council member na ayaw nang mag-run... Pasensiya na brod at alam naming hindi mo kami ididimanda for copyright violations. As in before, wala nang paalam-paalam. Pentecostal naman din ang kalaban natin...hehe).
at Fairview Christian Fellowship (FCF) Part 4
“FCF is the Word of God! FCF is the Word of God! FCF is the Word of God!” Adet Colitoy, G12 practitioner, FCF March 25 guest speaker
“Lying, hypocrisy, a dulled conscience, and false religious practices all have roots in wrong doctrine.”
John MacArthur, pastor and theologian
“This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith.”
ANOTHER MAXIM OF LAW (AND OF COMMON SENSE)
To our beloved readers, the “leaders” of Fairview Christian Fellowship, I will use another maxim of Roman Law to prove my case of shameless behavior: Lying, Broken promises, and Extreme Deception.
Res Ipsa Loquitur
…which in simple English means, “The thing speaks for itself.”
I need only show “something” such as crucial evidence of deception: I do not have to explain myself further, because the thing “speaks for itself.”
In other words, my evidence is “self-explanatory.”
DECEPTION 1: CONTINUED USE OF PENTECOSTAL MATERIALS DESPITE CLAIMS TO THE CONTRARY
THE CHARGES: The FCF Leadership has introduced false teachings through their introduction of Pentecostal G12 Teachings of Cesar Castellanos of International Charismatic Mission of Bogota, Columbia.
THE EARLIER PROOF:
Use of FOUNDATIONS IN CHRIST, School of Leaders, by Cesar Castellanos which contains Charismetic teachings such as Laying of Hands, Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Slaying in the Spirit among G12 EGR participants.
Speaking in [Unbiblical] Tongues.
Use of Bethel Bible College, a Pentecostal institution, as the venue for EGR.
Numerous questionable practices and pronouncements from the pulpit.
A million etceteras…
THE FCF COUNCIL RESPONSE:
“…the leaders endeavor to identify and isolate teachings that are not consistent with our evangelical beliefs. Such teachings, if any [as if there are none], shall not be taught beyond the Pilot Group as the teachers of succeeding batches will purely be FCF leaders. We have also agreed to look for other suitable materials available in the market that follow the G12 system. In fact, since FCF leaders starting teaching the Post Encounter, the materials have been revised. (“The Case for the G-12 Model of Discipleship at FCF, A Position Paper by the Council and the Pastors of Fairview Christian Fellowship, November 22, 2006)
“We do not adhere to the second experience of receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit for this would deny our salvation” (Rom 8:9). (same source)
“Your maturity in the Lord and in your leadership was seen in your readiness to comply with CBAP recommendations on the matter, your eagerness to take responsibility of your actions by willingness to modify materials being used in the G12 program and willingness to face outcome of our dialog. (CBAP MT letter to FCF Council dated February 27, 2007)
“They promised to make drastic changes in their teachings,” CBAP MT told Bobby Villa and company (December 7, 2006)
“But they say one thing, and do another thing. We are dealing with an alien species here…” Bobby Villa told CBAP MT.
“But they look and sound sincere,” said the CBAP MT.
THE DAMNING EVIDENCE (THE LATEST PROOF):
I will just cite three evidences (but these will suffice) as I will reserve the
100-Megaton Thermonuclear bombs in Parts 5 and 6.
Fairview Christian Fellowship has adopted the G12 Pentecostal materials of Bethany World Prayer Center, an institution allied to Cesar Castellanos. They are [and will be] using the Discovery Series 1, [Series 2 and 3] Building Your Foundation, Student and Teachers Edition, and KIDZTREK for KIDS-the G12 material for Kids Sunday School. (How did we get the complete Discovery Series 1,2,3 -Student and Teachers Editions, KIDZTREK-the complete G12 study curriculum-all 13 booklets? The Lord Who Provides is His Name.)
Prepare yourselves for what is inside their current G12 study materials!
[SFX: Drum roll]
“There is another baptism other than water baptism, and that is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Scriptures abound with instances of believers in the early church receiving this infilling of the Spirit and the radical change it wrought in them. It is a separate experience [a second experience] from salvation and critical to the believer's ability to walk in God's power and develop into a strong and mature Christian. These two baptisms are another elementary part of our faith…” (DISCOVERY 1, Lesson 5, Understanding of Baptisms, page 33)
“The laying on of hands draws life from Jesus, the Head of the body of Christ, and releases and imparts that life via the hands. The power of the risen Christ to heal, to minister, or to give blessing is resident in the life of every Spirit-filled disciple, but especially in God-chosen leaders. That power is released through the laying on of hands. (DISCOVERY 1, Lesson 6, The Laying On Of Hands, page 41)
“Note to Teachers: After teaching the lesson, explain to the children what you are about to do. Explain that we do not all sound the same when speaking in tongues, so we do not have to pay attention to anyone else. Let the children know that they must open their mouths and speak as the Spirit gives them the ability.
“Invite the children who want to receive the baptism to come to the front, and have them face you side by side without talking…
“Then tell the children that you are going to lay your hands on them to receive the Holy Spirit and that they will speak in tongues. As you pray in tongues and begin to lay hands on the children, notice that their lips begin to move, and say something like, `That's it!' or `You've got it!' Encourage each child to continue praying as you move down the line.” (From KIDZTREK for KIDS, Session 6, The Baptism in the Holy Spirit, page 75-76)
Do I have to explain further? Are we still in a state of denial here? The three items above speak loudly for themselves! Res Ipsa Loquitur.
And they told the CBAP MT, “We promise to make drastic changes in our teachings.” Was not CBAP mislead?
WHAT DOES THE OFFICIAL CBAP STAND SAY?
Last March 18 an FCF Elder in a Powerpoint Presentation claimed that CBAP congratulated them regarding their G12 activities. He even claimed that the CBAP Affirmations and Denials [against Pentecostalism/Charismatic Theology] were for G12!
Let us again see, from your G12 materials…
“It is a separate experience [a second experience] from salvation…” (DISCOVERY 1, Lesson 5, Understanding of Baptisms, page 33)
But…from the CBAP AFFIRMATIONS AND DENIALS… (BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT)
“…We deny, on the basis of biblical precedent and the testimony of history, that baptism with the Holy Spirit is an experience subsequent to salvation or as a `second blessing,'…”
Again, your Sunday School bible study materials for kids say…
“Then tell the children that you are going to lay your hands on them to receive the Holy Spirit and that they will speak in tongues. (From KIDZTREK for KIDS, Session 6, The Baptism in the Holy Spirit, p75-76)
But…from the CBAP AFFIRMATIONS AND DENIALS… (THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT)
“We deny as we also decry the claim that speaking in tongues is an indispensable sign of the baptism with the Holy Spirit, a teaching which results in factions and discrimination against those who do not manifest the same sign.”
My question is-who is misleading whom? They still teach false teachngs! Is this not a case of blatant deception-both of the CBAP MT and the FCF members? CBAP inisahan!
And are you not going to have this G12 heresy, officially rejected by CAMACOP of the Alliance churches, (sending its official anti-G12 roving pastor Isaias Catorce to all its churches) through the coming Congregational Meeting? Have we not pointed out the major errors in earlier writings? And you still will force it down the throats of FCF members-this Pentecostal teaching born of Cesar Castellanos, a Charismatic Pentecostal?
Can false doctrine be approved, and implemented by a simple show of hands? Will you force on us a doctrine which CAMACOP roving pastor Isaias Catorce calls Cultic, Divisive, and Dangerous?
May God forbid!
Are you not aware that because of G12 a massive number of FCF members have already left for other churches? Where are the once familiar faces?
DECEPTION 2: ELECTION OR EXTENSION?
One way to ensure that Pentecostal G12 is preserved is to ensure that the “leaders” who advocate G12 are also “preserved,” or given another term. But the annual Congregattional Meeting is for the Election of Officers. Note, “Election.” If I am not mistaken the last congregational meeting, where there was a formal election, was around March 2005, right? But last year, at least four officers were “extended” their terms, just by a show of hands? Where is it written in the FCF Bylaws that an FCF officer's term can be extended by a yaer? Is this not illegal? If it is illegal, is it not all the more immoral?
Was there a Selection Committee for this year's candidates as in years past? Or, did you proclaim yourselves to be the Selection Committee?
An official who is extended and not elected does not have a mandate to lead. Nor is an elder who is “elected” but does not get the required minimum number of votes-he too, doesn't have a mandate-the Bylaws is a sacred document to be followed.
Presenting the following four mathematical equations:
Extension and No Election = No Mandate from Heaven.
Election + Lack of Minimum Number of Votes = No Mandate from Heaven
No Mandate from Heaven = Illegal Programs, Projects, Meetings
No Mandate from Heaven = Lording it Over the Congregation
Shall the FCF Bylaws, a Legal and Binding document, the Constitution of Fairview Christian Fellowship, be set aside and trampled upon? Are we not a church governed by Laws? Integrity, verily cries out.
By the way, “ARTICLE II. Annual Meeting” states “...and select annually the officers and members of the corporation [FCF]…” Where does it say that one can serve two or three years continuously? Remember, a Council Resolution cannot override the Bylaws on this matter. Nor can Pres. Arroyo extend her term to ten years by issuing an Administrative Order (A.O.).
Now why was the original date for the Congregational Meeting, March 25, moved to April 22? Simple, because an election was not planned on the first date, but an “extension” of officers, according to some of you in the Council. Because of our “subtle” warnings, you feared that the conduct of an extension, would be challenged. So why not again on the 25th of March? Is it because you fear you would not get the required votes to be elected-in so short a time. Do you need more time to campaign? Is a church leadership position to be campaigned for? Or should not a candidate's character (honesty, absence of deception, handling correctly the Word of God, etc…) shine through without campaigning?
But, in moving the date of the election of officers, beyond the not-later-than March 11 (the second Sunday of March-as required by ARTICLE II of the Bylaws), you would have painted yourselves into a corner….
THE APRIL FOOLS NIGHTMARE SCENARIO
According to the FCF Bylaws, an officer's term is only up to the 2nd Sunday of March. This means that…everything done by you as “officers” from March 12 to March 31 had no legality. Even everything done today, April 1, April Fools day up to April 21, the day before the elections, will also be illegal because your terms as officers have already ceased. In short, you no longer have any mandate from Heaven to lead. And the mandate to lead is dictated by the FCF Bylaws-the 2nd most sacred document in FCF, next to the Scriptures, which reflects the will of the members of this church,
What actions had and will now be without legal basis?
The Announcement of FCF candidates for election. It will be illegal and nonbinding to present something before the congregation, because you had no mandates to choose, much more present such candidates. That list of candidates will be an illegal list, too. And those of you without mandates, will you not present yourselves, or others with similar Pentecostal beliefs, as suitable candidates? Who gave you authority?
The Presentation of all matters up for approval: Plans, Programs, Budgets…will be without legal basis.
The Holding of the scheduled FCF Leaders Retreat on April 14-15 will be illegal, because your terms as leaders have expired. Spending church funds for such an activity will, on those dates, be an immoral and illegal act-tantamount to stealing.
All Council or Leaders Meetings, regular or emergency or secret-from March 12 to April 21, 2007-and all decisions emanating from these meetings…
Your standing up before the congregation for the Lord's Supper as leaders. (If you partake of the Lord's Supper-lagot kayo sa itaas.)
As non-officers you must do what is honorable and right. And the remaining elder who is not up for election did not get the required minimum number of votes according to the Bylaws (2/3 vote-Article 6, Section 3) to be an elder? Can a mere show of hands (declare someone to be an elder) and override the Constitution of FCF? Can his term be more than a year which is prohibited by the Bylaws?
“Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive.”
DECEPTION 3: INCOMING G12-FRIENDLY PASTOR (OR RETURNING?)
Another way to ensure the preservation of this doctrinal heresy that is G12, is to ensure that the incoming (or returning?) pastor is friendly to Pentecostal G12 teaching, which the Pentecostal FCF Council wants preserved. Must be a G12 Practitioner, right?
We pity the incoming (or returning?) pastor, Pastor ___r___? He will have his hands full (again?) defending false teaching. By the way, have the CBAP pastor candidates lost interest to be an FCF pastor? Maybe it's because your CBAP candidates have decided that it's not worth defending a doctrine that is not defensible scripturally? So what's left of the candidates are the Pentecostal/Charismatic types who have no interest in defending historic Baptist teachings. Kawawa naman ang FCF.
Kawawa rin ang magiging “bagong” pastor-he will now be the official and designated teacher of false doctrine-taking the heat off the leaders. Bago ba talaga ito, or luma, or recent? Pero malamang-Pentecostal, or Charismatic!
Now, a word for our March 18 guest speaker, a certain Pabs Dionisio, a G12 Pentecostal Charismatic-type preacher. Sir, Preaching is not entertainment: it is not making people laugh, clap, stomp, cheer-by telling jokes, anecdotes, funny stories, or singing amusing songs with Christianized lyrics by the Apo Hiking Society within your sermon. Preaching should be “Dividing the Word of God correctly,” and not playing with people's emotions just like Pentecostal preachers do. That is what God demands of preachers-correct preaching (2nd Tim 2:15)-not entertainment.
No matter what bible acrobatics you perform, Mark 4:35-41, the assigned Scripture verses, are not about, “Victorious Living Through the Power of Generous Giving!” Period. We are not to fit the verse to our sermon or topic-we are to fit our topic to the assigned verses.
Another word for our March 25 guest speaker, a certain Adet Colitoy, also a G12 Pentecostal Charismatic-type preacher. He said, “FCF is the Word of God! FCF is the Word of God! FCF is the Word of God! Nakakakilabot!
May God save FCF from such pastors, shabby preaching, and false teachings!
QUALIFICATIONs OF ELDERS/DEACONS
Titus 1:9 says, “…holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.”
Baptist theologian John Gill says of the relationship between an elder and the Word of God, “and this is not only to be held forth by the elder, but to be held fast, and tenaciously abode by; in opposition to all wavering about it, departing from it, dropping or concealing any part of it…”
So an elder or deacon is supposed to be the Guardian of the Word of God, and not its Breaker, Violator, False Teacher. Where are the regular sermons on the qualifications of leaders, which are scheduled before the elections?
Also, 1st Timothy 3:2, 4-5 says, “An overseer then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach… He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?)…”
PENTECOSTAL TEACHINGS UNDERMINE THE BIBLE
John MacArthur, a leading bible teacher advocate for strong biblical preaching, says, “Although Charismatics deny that they are trying to add to Scripture, their views on prophetic utterance, gifts of prophecy, and revelation really do just that. As they add-however unwittingly-to God's Final revelation, they undermine the uniqueness and authority of the Bible. New revelation, dreams, and visions [such as the Vision of Cesar Castellanos] are considered as binding on the believers conscience as the book of Romans or the gospel of John.
“The line between clarifying Scripture and adding to it is indeed a thin one. But Scripture is not clarified by listening to someone who thinks he has the gift of prophecy. Scripture is clarified as it is carefully and diligently studied. There are no shortcuts to interpreting God's word accurately (cf. Acts 17:11; 2 Tim. 2:15).
“Christians must not play fast and loose with the issues of inspiration and revelation. An accurate understanding of those doctrines is essential for distinguishing between the voice of God and the human voice. Men who professed to speak for God but spoke their own opinions were to be executed under the Old Testament law (Deut. 13:1-5). New Testament believers are also urged to test the spirits and judge all supposed prophecies, shunning false prophets and heretics (1 John 4:1; 1 Cor. 14:29).
“The Holy Spirit is working mightily in the church today, but not in the way most Charismatics think. The Holy Spirit's role is to empower us as we preach, teach, write, talk, witness, think, serve, and live. He does lead us into God's truth and direct us into God's will for our lives. But He does it through God's Word, never apart from it. To refer to the Holy Spirit's leading and empowering ministry as inspiration or revelation is a mistake. To use phrases such as “God spoke to me,” or “This wasn't my idea; the Lord gave it to me,” or “These aren't my words, but a message I received from the Lord” confuses the issue of the Spirit's direction in believers' lives today.” (Source: Prophecy and the Closed Canon, Part 3)
ON CHURCH DISCIPLINE
Church Discipline is one of the topics of the now-discontinued FCF Baptist Baptismal Class, which I helped teach (where the CBAP Affirmations and Denials --against Pentecostalism, was strongly taught). From one of the materials…
“Occasion for Discipline
False Doctrine. Titus 1:13 `This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith.' Has your church taken this strong a stand against corrupt doctrine?” (ONE HUNDRED- BIBLE LESSONS, by Alban Douglas, page 355, © 1996 OMF Literature Inc.)
Based on the above bible lesson, who should be disciplined?
In the very end, Truth will always stand up to repeated blows from the brittle hammers of False Teaching. We are very much committed to the teaching of what is Pure and what is True. No impurities allowed.
Will you not present False Doctrine for approval-the G12 Pentecostal System (hatched through the false revelations given to Charismatic Leader Cesar Castellanos), which undermines and adds to the Finished Work of Christ and is full of False Teachings?
Our statement to you who are leaders no more, those whose consciences have been dulled, those who are in a state of constant denial, those who are aware that what they teach is wrong-but still teach it, those who say one thing but do another…
